London July, 2016. The Sourcing Team, leading specialists in ethical, sustainable and compliant global sourcing and procurement, have once again reconfirmed their green, sustainable and ethical credentials with the latest Gold recognition for their CSR rating from EcoVadis, the international supplier sustainability ratings organisation for environmental and social practices within the global supply chain. This excellent result puts The Sourcing Team within the top global 5% companies that have been assessed by EcoVadis during 2016.
The EcoVadis recognition is the second high-scoring rating received by The Sourcing Team in recent months. They have achieved similar impressive results in their latest rating on the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Sustainability Index. In fact, in 2016 they managed to improve their already high scores to achieve a near perfect score across the three categories of Economic, Environmental and Social Scores.
In a year of celebrations and achievements, The Sourcing Team, who have just celebrated their 20th Anniversary, are justifiably proud of their green and sustainable track record. As a company, they believe in “doing the right thing” and over the years, they have played a leading role in raising the bar in sustainability, ethicability and transparency within the supply chain, while working with their global suppliers and partners to uphold ethical business practices and ensure fully compliant merchandise.
As Gill Thorpe, The Sourcing Team CEO and Founder said, “We are delighted with our results, from both EcoVadis and CIPS. Making constant improvements to improve performance year-on-year involves a lot of dedication, time and effort. As a company, we take our responsibilities very seriously and are fully committed to constantly looking for ways to improve.”
She continued, “We are members of international organisations such as EcoVadis, CIPS and Sedex AB. As one team, we honour our pledge to the UN Global Compact (UNGC) Goals 2016 to continue improving our efforts in sustainability and in looking after the environment. Year after year, we have taken on this challenge, and year-on-year, we have succeeded in raising our game in a remarkable fashion. Our CSR efforts are led by Sharon Childs, our Financial Director & Head of Sustainability and supported by the Green Team, Sadie Norfolk and Abigail Blake.”
