Q: What made you decide to set up your own business?

A: It was a decision taken a very long time ago, when I was still in my teens.  I always knew that one day I would set up a consultancy. I found my niche quite early in life, being a very early adopter of IT and the internet. I am a writer at heart.Communications and marketing came naturally to me and I could see quite clearly just how I could harness media channels to communicate. My background is a glorious mix of journalism and international strategic marketing and communications  – both agency side and in the corporate world (financial services, travel, tourism and professional services).  When the dot com boom hit, and the time was right, the decision to leave corporate life and branch out on my own was a natural step.  I was looking for a particular role, and not really finding it, decided to create it through the consultancy. That was 10 years ago and I haven’t looked back.

Q: What do you like about running your own business?

A: The variety of clients and projects, coupled with the ability to work with people I liked – people who inspire me and who believe that there really are no  limits except for the ones you impose on yourself!

Q: How do you keep yourself motivated in tough times?

A: I work through my challenges.  I am very pragmatic when under pressure and it does help. I also am very optimistic – glass is always half full and I love figuring a way out of whatever challenging situation I may be in.

Q: Top tip for continued success in business?

A: Break down your self imposed barriers and dream big. The world is your oyster!

Q: Can you buy from 16 women owned businesses in 2016 and share the challenge?

A: Yes, and I am joining in the challenge and have committed to #Buy16in16.
