We recently attended a procurement and diversity event in Florida and it was quite an incredible trip for many reasons; the learning from other peoples experiences in diversity & inclusion, key note speakers – sending us away full of inspiration and confidence, hearing from the buyers directly, understanding what they need from us as suppliers and, most importantly, the new friendships we made from around the world.
The scale of the whole event was immense – the key note speakers included Lisa Price Founder – Carol’s Daughter, Mike Jones President – Discover Leadership Training, Neil Austrian Chairman & Chief Executive Office – Office Depot, and oh, yes WOW Frances Cole Jones – having to deliver to nearly 3000 guests when the sound system crashed – she took control of that room and really did WOW us all!
What have I learnt? Well that it’s all about sharing – buyers and sellers, sharing knowledge and ideas, connecting people and being generous with your time.
