The Sourcing Team Supporting – Splendours of the Commonwealth at the May Fair Hotel

CCLEF Celebrates London Fashion Week with an inaugural Splendours of the Commonwealth Event.

London, August 2013. The registered charity Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund (CCLEF) has joined this year’s London Fashion Week activities by hosting Splendours of the Commonwealth on September 12, 2013 at the may Fair Hotel in London, which proudly celebrates its fifth year as “Official Hotel of London Fashion Week”.

Splendours of the Commonwealth ( is a showcase of talented and bright designers and models from the fashion industry throughout the Commonwealth. The result of a collaborative and creative effort, Splendours of the Commonwealth has brought together many of the CCLEF’s friends, supporters and partners including the May Fair Hotel, London Garments Expo, lead sponsor HSBC Bank plc and Deloitte LLP.

The Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund (CCLEF) is a secondary education sponsorship scheme for girls. The charity is currently funding 397 able but impoverished girls across 25 countries in the Commonwealth counties.

The CCLEF has, since 1967, supported over 4000 girls in 30 Commonwealth countries, empowering them to break away from poverty, develop careers and positively impact the societies in which they live. Over 90 girls have completed their secondary education. Some will go on to university, others to training colleges: all should now have the ability to take greater control of their lives, increased knowledge, earning capacity and the opportunity to overcome poverty. Others have already reaped these rewards and are passing on the benefits to their families and communities.

The Sourcing Team are delighted to be able to support the event, in a small way on the evening and we urge you to visit for more information or to see how you may be able to support this wonderful charity.
